Dial-Up Setup Information
Please select your operating system below:
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Millennium (ME), & 2000
Create the Dial-Up Connection:
- Double-click on the My Computer icon
- Double-click on the Dial-up Networking icon (in Windows ME/2000, click on Dial-up Networking on the left side of the screen)
- Double-click on the Make New Connection icon
- Type SimplePC where it asks for the provider name
- Select your modem (it may be selected already)
- Click Next
- Enter the ACCESS NUMBER in the telephone number box
- Click Next
- Click Finish
Microsoft Windows XP
Create the Dial-Up Connection:
- Open the Start Menu and select Control Panel
- Click on Network and Internet Connections
- Click on Setup or change your Internet connection
- Click Setup
- Type in your area code (864) and click Ok
- Click Next
- Make sure Connect to the Internet is selected and click Next
- Select Set up my connection manually and click Next
- Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next
- Type SimpleDSL and click Next
- Type 229-6483 in the telephone number box and click Next
- Click Finish
Internet Explorer (PC)
Set Internet Explorer to Connect Automatically:
- Double-click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop
- Click on Tools
- Click on Internet Options (if not listed, look under EDIT)
- Click the Connections Tab
- Click on SimplePC
- Click on Set Default
- Click on Dial whenever a network connection is not present
- Click OK
Outlook Express (PC)
Configure your E-Mail:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools
- Click on Accounts
- Click the Add button and select Mail
- Type your name, followed by clicking Next
- Type your email address, followed by clicking Next
- Type mail.simplepc.net in the incoming mail server, and type mail.simplepc.net in the outgoing mail server, followed by clicking Next
- Type your username (remember: usernames on the SimplePC network are the ENTIRE e-mail address), and type your password, followed by clicking Next
- Click Finish
